The BMSC Library is collecting textbooks and educational books for Better World Books, an organization that accepts books for non-profit organizations such as Books For Africa and Room to Read which send books to Africa and Asia to promote world literacy. Better World Books also sells their books online, and donates 100% of their profits to these organizations. See the Better World Books website.

Better World Books ask that we send:

Fiction or non-fiction children to adult soft or hardcover books

• Post-secondary textbooks no older than 15 years
• Reference books (encyclopedias or dictionaries 1990 or newer)
• Medical, Nursing or Law textbooks/journals
• National Geographic or academic journals from the past 10 years
• Books in good physical condition

And not send:

• Religious books
• Romance novels
• American history/civics books
• Cookbook/home decorating books
• Wedding planning books
• Ethnocentric books
• Spanish or German books
• Any magazines, accept for National Geographic and academic journals
