Costs for University and College groups

General

There is a room and board, and user fee for each member of the group (including organizers and teachers). The user fee cover the cost of instructors, small boat use, and equipment maintenance:

Member University groups (U of Victoria, UBC, SFU, U of Alberta, U of Calgary):
- Room and Board: $54.00/day
- User Fee: $10.00/day

Non-Member University groups:
- Room and Board: $60.00/day
- User Fee: $52.00/day

Optional

Additionally, rental of the M.V. Alta and M.V. Barkley Star for longer trips (for mammal and sea bird surveys, and dredging or trawling around Barkley Sound, ) is available upon request. The remotely operated vehicle (ROV) is also available for deep sea discovery.

The usage fee for the M.V. Alta, M.V. Barkley Star, and the ROV covers the cost of crew, fuel, and maintenance:

Member University groups
- M.V. Alta charter (2 hour minimum): $150/hr
- M.V. Barkley Star charter: $200/hr
- ROV: $100/hr (add Barkley Star for transport)

Non-Member University groups:
- M.V. Alta charter (2 hour minimum): $175/hr
- M.V. Barkley Star charter: $250/hr
- ROV: $100/hr (add Barkley Star for transport)

*All of the above prices are subjected to 6% GST

Meal Prices (per person)

Breakfast: $9.50
Lunch: $10.50
Dinner: $17.00
