by the kind generosity of the following:

“It is most important for as many
young students as possible be exposed to the wonders of
natural science and develop a love of and curiosity for
the living world.” (Wendy Rebanks, Treasurer of
The W. Garfield Weston Foundation, September 22, 2005)
The W. Garfield Weston Foundation Trustees are pleased
to know that funds from their foundation will be used
as “seed money” for teachers from low socio-economic
region schools to fund raise for a class field trip to
Bamfield.
Teachers seeking assistance are invited to have their
principal submit supporting stats and/or documents demonstrating
need to the Public Education Program.

Oceans
of Art
The proceeds of artwork sold from the Oceans
of Arts Gallery go towards the BMSC Public Education
Program’s bursary fund. Teachers of students requiring
financial assistance are invited to contact the Public
Education Program for further information.
Or to assist entire classes with their BMSC
Field Trip fundraising efforts, a piece of Oceans of Art
work can be donated to them to use for a fundraising activity.
Participating classes are asked to please acknowledge
the contributing artist in a local press release. Interested
teachers are invited to contact the Public Education Program
for further information
In summer 2004, two work experience students
painted up an old gumboot to be used as a Public Education
Program Bursary Fund donation box. Since then, visitors
to BMSC have been generously donating to the boot.
