Conference and Retreat Facilities

The Rix Center for Ocean Discovery

Our main conference facility offers 425 sq. metres of flexible meeting space for up to 150 people. All rooms are equipped with an integrated A/V system and white boards. Wireless internet access is available for events at a reasonable cost. The Reception Hall is furnished with comfortable sofas and club chairs for informal discussions and social gatherings. A boardroom-style seminar room is available for up to 10 people on the lower level.

Cafeteria Complex

The cafeteria building contains additional meeting space.
The Ross Lecture theatre provides seating for 50 people and can be divided into two rooms. A/V equipment includes portable digital projector, TV and VCR.
The Fire Lounge, a common social area with fireplace, pool table and couches, is suitable for small group gatherings.

Accommodation

Subject to availability, BMSC can provide conference accommodation on-site. Campus lodging consists of:

	Buchanan Lodge offers accommodation for up to 98 people including those with disabilities. Rooms are furnished with bunkbeds, desks, washstands and are wired high speed (100Mbps) internet access. Each floor contains several washroom and shower facilities.
	The Dormitory can house up to 32 people, bunk-house style. Each room is equipped with two bunkbeds with a shared washroom/shower facility for every two rooms. Common areas are furnished with sofas, desks and chairs.
	Eight cabins, located in wooded areas on campus, provide apartment-style housing. All the cabins are furnished and have fully equipped kitchens.

Meals and Catering Service

The cafeteria seats 150 people, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. Lunch and dinner meals include all-you-can-eat salad bar and dessert. Sunday brunch is offered in the summer months. Special diets and food allergies are accommodated with advance notice.

Catered meals can be provided in the cafeteria or Rix Centre upon request. Whether it's a working lunch, buffet dinner or wine and cheese, the Conference Coordinator and Chef will be happy to assist in designing a menu to suit your group.
